Ever Wondered What Ahsoka’s TV Intro Would Be If The Series Came Out In 1986?

The Ahsoka series is now over on Disney+, but if you want more Star Wars-related goodness in your eyeballs I have good news for you — there’s a video on the Internet that gives us a spoof on the show’s intro by imagining what it would look like if the series came out in 1986!

The video comes from the YouTube channel the Auralnauts, who have a bevy of other Star Wars-related clips on their page. Their Ahsoka riff has garnered a galaxy’s worth of views, and deservedly so.

Here’s the description they provided for the 1986-themed spoof:

It’s 1986. You’re sitting eagerly in front of the television in your Max Reebo pajamas, sneaking a bowl of C3P0s because you didn’t finish your TV dinner and you’re still hungry. Tonight is a big night and you need the energy. After Webster is over, a new Star Wars show is premiering. Book of Boba Fett was okay, but after Return of the Jedi, you only want one thing: more space magic. Your Dad walks in and tries to change it to The A-Team, but you will not be deterred. You tell him a new show is starting and it’s all about hot ladies who kick ass. You easily win him over. It’s almost time now.

Nostalgia alert! The intro captures the essence of 1986 well, and also lightly teases the show about certain things, including how it’s kind of weird that Syndulla wear pilot goggles all the time, and how the 25,000-year-old droid Huyang, who is possibly one of the most valuable beings in the galaxy, has been relegated to ship maintenance.

The video is also, among other things, a fun thing to watch on a Friday! I hope you enjoy it.
